Hobart Hurricanes defeated Sydney Thunder by six wickets in match 29 of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 to be played at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart. (More Cricket News)

Earlier, Hurricanes skipper Nathan Ellis won the toss and elected to field first. His decision did not backfire as the hosts removed two wickets before Sydney Thunder captain David Warner played a scintillating knock.

Warner's innings of 88 included seven fours, as he took his side to respectable 164/6 in 20 overs.

In reply, Hurricanes did lose wickets in the early stages of the game but Nikhil Chaudhary (28) and Tim David (68 not out) ensured the hosts did not lose any wickets, as they won the game comfortably and also finished the night as the leaders in the BBL 2024-25 standings.
