MANILA – The House of Representatives on Tuesday adopted a resolution recommending Olympic double-gold medalist Carlos Edriel Yulo be inducted into the Philippine Sports Hall of Fame through the Philippine Sports Commission.
House Resolution 2131, approved during the plenary session, seeks to enshrine the gymnast in the prestigious hall pursuant to Republic Act 8757 or an act establishing the Philippine Sports Hall of Fame.

The resolution highlighted Yulo’s decorated career, which includes six World Championship medals (two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals) alongside 10 Asian championship titles and nine Southeast Asian Games gold medals in various gymnastics events.

“Carlos Edriel P. Yulo’s historic victory earned for the Philippines the respect and adulation of other countries, and he served as an inspiration for Filipino athletes to strive for excellence, and thus deserves the honor to be enshrined into the Philippine Sports Hall of Fame,” the resolution stated.
